Croatia 2019

May 2019 me and my boyfriend were invited to join his parents on a holiday to Istria, Croatia. Of course we couldn't say no to that. We had an amazing time with amazing food! He's some pictures of the food and where you can find it!

Croatia's food has a lot of Italian influences and you can have some pizza on every street corner. We actually had dinner at this place twice. It's called pizzeria Asterix in Pula! It's also pretty cheap!

We actually wanted a late afternoon snack because dinner was a few hours away, but we ended up with this huge platter and we actually needed a doggy bag to bring some of it home with us! You will find this lovely finger food at the Wine Corner in Porec.

This were actually the leftovers from the previous place! We had breakfast with it!

You can buy seriously great fish at the local supermarket. Don't see that quality in a Dutch supermarket sadly!

When in the beautiful Rovinj, have a great lunch kr dinner at Snack Bar Rio! This local pasta was amazing!

Something you MUST eat when in Croatia, is truffles. I always lived truffle flavoured things, but never had raw, shaved truffle. It was amazing with home made gnocchi and steak at this cute restaurant inside a castle. Kastel bar & bistro in Karlovac!

They even had purple basil!

It was amazing!
