This is what I call comfort food! This Chinese minced meat dish is super easy and super quick and yep... Super tasty as well.
Ingredients (3p):
• 500 gram minced pork or 50/50 • 8 garlic cloves • 2 tsp grated ginger • 2 tbsp Shaoxing rice wine • black pepper • 60 ml soy sauce • 100 ml vegetable broth • 50 gram sugar • 2 tbsp sambal Badjak • 2 tbsp cornstarch • 1 tbsp sesame oil • 2 tbsp sesame seeds • 10 to 15 spring onions (young ones if possible) •
1. Finely chop the garlic and mix this into the minces meat, together with the Shaoxing rice wine, ginger and black pepper.
2. Get a bowl and mix the soy sauce, broth, sugar, sambal, cornstarch and sesame oil.
3. Heat up some oil in a big pan or wok and stir fry the minced meat. Once the meat is cooked, add the sauce. Stir well until it starts to thicken.
4. Add the spring onions (chopped into large chunks) and 1 tbsp of the sesame seeds. Stir fry until the spring onion start to soften.
5. Serve on white rice and garnish with extra sesame seeds.
If you don't like spicy food, cut down on the sambal or use a less spicy one (Badjak is pretty mild). If you prefer a lot of spicy, you can always add fresh chilly or chilly flakes.
Trust me, this dish will be a winner for those days you don't feel like standing in the kitchen for hours. You can stir fry everything while the rice is cooking and it won't take any longer than that.
Enjoy!
