Tonight we had a full-on 'Greek' feast with a paprika-feta cheese dip, tzaziki, naan bread (not very Greek), baba famous (also very much not Greek) and Bifteki. The garlic was flowing abundantly and we both ate way too much!
I will post the recipes separately!
Ingredients Bifteki:
• 500 gram minced meat (50/50 pork and beef) • 1 pureed or grated white onion • 3 garlic cloves • 2 tsp dried oregano • 1 tsp dried mint • 2 tsp freshly chopped parsley • salt and pepper • 1 egg • 2 tbsp bread crumbs • 1 tsp cumin powder •
1. Mix all the ingredients together. Add the minced meat and mix well with your hands, until smooth.
2. Devide the meat into 10 equal portions.
3. Roll into oval shaped patties and fry in a little bit of oil, until nice and golden and they start to caramelize. Garnish with fresh parsley.
The patties are rich in flavour and delicious with all earlier named sauces. They would also work great on a toasted bun with a nice salad.
The recipes for the sauces will follow soon!
Enjoy!
