Wanted to try something new today and stumbled upon this Lebanese 7 spice mix. I tweaked it a bit, because some of the spices have a strong flavour I prefer more on the background. It's a lovely base mix for ground meat or lamb.
Lebanese 7 spice mix:
• ½ tsp allspice • ½ tsp cloves • 1 tsp nutmeg • 1 tsp ginger powder • 1 tsp ground fenugreek • 1 tsp black pepper • ½ tsp cinnamon •
This is the base for 500 gram of ground lamb. Next to this blend I also added:
• 1 shallot • 1 tsp salt • 3 garlic cloves • 2 tsp dried oregano • ½ tsp dried mint • ½ tsp dried thyme • 1 egg • 2 tbsp olive oil •
Mix all the ingredients into the ground lamb and stuff your sweet peppers. Put in a Pre-heated oven (220°C) and grill (yes, use the grill setting for a nice golden top) for 20-25 minutes. This depends on the size of the peppers. I stuffed exactly 4 pepper (8 halves) with this amount of meat.
Serve over Greek yoghurt and garnish with parsley and crispy fried garlic slices.
Serve with a salad and use the yoghurt that's left on your plate as a dressing for the salad.
No carbs, but all the fun!
If you want extra carbs, add rice or couscous or a good piece of bread!
Enjoy!
