Some of my close friends may know that I'm a sucker for Mexican food with cacao or chocolate in it. Tonight my lil sister came over for dinner and I made some Mexican minced meat with American coleslaw on flour tortillas. Super comfort food and super tasty!

Here's the recipe for the meat, the easy coleslaw will follow later!

Ingredients (enough for 1 kg minced meat. I used half and froze the rest of it):

• 1 red onion • 3 garlic cloves • 1 tbsp sesame seeds • 1 tsp cumin seeds • 3 cloves • 1 tsp coriander seeds • 1 tbsp oregano • 1 tsp cinnamon • 1 chilli pepper • 50 gram 70% chocolate • 1 tbsp smoked paprika powder • 1 tsp salt • 250 gram passata • 10 almonds •

1. Get yourself a nice hot pan and brown all the seeds and nuts until golden and super fragrant. (Sesame, cumin, coriander seeds, cloves and almonds).

2. Get your kitchen machine and mix all the ingredients together except for the chocolate. The chocolate will be added later into the pan when the meat is fully cooked and the sauce reduced.

3. Get some oil in a pan and fry your minced meat. Add the paste/sauce and cook on high heat. Once the sauce is nice and sticking to the meat, add the chocolate. Be aware! If you make half a portion of meat (500 gram instead of 1 kg) make sure you also use half of the paste and half the amount of chocolate!

Eat the meat with a fresh salad, it's a rich dish with a heavy flavour. But it's so jummy!

Enjoy!
