Smoked mackerel herb salad

This super easy barley and smoked mackerel dish is ready in 15 minutes (the time it takes to cook the barley, it's the fast cooking kind, I boiled it in some broth) and super tasty. Mix the ingredients in amounts you prefer with herbs you like. I used coriander, parsley, mint, chives and oregano. Add raw white or green asparagus (super thinly sliced with a peeler), capers, avocado and lemon zest and that's actually it. A good splash of olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper and you're done. You can buy the smoked mackerel all cleaned for you, but I don't mind getting my hands dirty, so I bought a whole one and cleaned it myself. You could even add extra salad or broccoli. It's your party!
